This month I was fortunate to take part in a couple of swaps. One with my team and another with a training group I belong to. The theme of both swaps was new Occasions Catalog products. I decided to use the same stamp set in both swaps and even though the focal point was basically the same on both cards the card layouts and colors were different.
The first card uses one of my favorite color palettes, Coastal Cabana, Granny Apple Green and Gorgeous Grape. Both cards also use the fun new ribbons out of the new catalog. This ribbon is so easy to work with and ties beautifully. The double sided Coastal Cabana and Granny Apple Green one is just so beautiful! By far my new favorite ribbon right now!
On both cards I chose to emboss the cake with the gooey icing onto colored cardstock with white embossing powder and cut out with the coordinating punch. I then added glitter to both the cake and the cute lollipops sticking out of the top. The lollipop is actually stamped directly onto the stitched oval and then the cake and cake plate were added with dimensionals. Both cake plates were punched out of glimmer paper. I LOVE how this turned out!
The oval piece with the cake is layered hanging over the edge of the card. You can see it better in the photo below. Adds an interesting dimension to the card and is one of my favorite styles to make.
Well I hope you enjoyed my projects. All of the supplies I used are listed below for both cards with direct links to my online store. If you use hostess code W94ZH3GB to place an order of $50 or more before tax and shipping you will be able to pick out a FREE item from the Sale-A-Bration brochure. I will also send you a free embellishment in the mail as a thank you!
Thanks so much for stopping by...
