Lots of Happy Card Kit

One of my favorite items in the 2018 Occasions Catalog is the all-inclusive Lots of Happy Card Kit. If you are a fan of coloring then this kit is perfect for you! The kit comes with all of the supplies to make 20 cards (4 each of 5 designs) with fun, striped paper lined envelopes. Also included is a 7 piece stamp set, clear block for mounting stamps, a black ink spot, 4 fun colored watercolor pencils, some gorgeous ribbon and all the extra pieces ready to color and build your cards.  Kits are great when you just want to make some cards but find yourself overwhelmed by the big Stampin' Up! catalog.  A great way to get started with this fun hobby!  You will need your favorite adhesive and either a small paintbrush or blender pens (my personal preference) to complete the cards.

As you can probably see I did add a little extra bling to some of the cards in the form of our Gold Metallic Thread and the Clear Wink of Stella (one of my favorite embellishments).  These cards truly turn out gorgeous with or without the extras!

Bird Banter

UPDATE - I decided to play along with the Inspire. Create.Challenge this month and enter this card. Their theme is animals and I thought this fit in well....go check out their blog and all of their creative design team members!!

Today I am going to share this cute card that I made for my team swaps next month...our theme is birthday and I had this Bird Banter stamp set that I really wanted to play with.  The team I am part of is a wonderful group of talented stampers that never fails to disappoint with their swap cards. I really wanted something with some "WOW" factor, so I decided to try the Z-Fold card.  Such an easy fun fold I have a feeling that I will be using often.

To make this card I cut the Lemon Lime card stock lengthwise at 4 1/4", and then scored at 5 1/2" and 2 3/4".  Fold in half on the 5 1/2" score and then fold the paper back on itself at 2 3/4".  Voila!  Z-Fold....easy peasy!  The paper size on the front panel is cut to 2 1/2" x 4" in the Bubbles and Fizz Designer Series Paper.  This is a Sale-A-Bration item that you can earn with a $50 purchase.  But really you can use any of your favorite designer series paper.  I cut a piece of watercolor paper with the largest Stitched Framelit circle and did a watercolor wash using the Bermuda Bay ink pad and an aquapainter.  The Parrot was stamped on whisper white with the Tuxedo Black ink pad and colored with the Stampin' Blends.  I layered the square window (cut with the Layering Squares in Calypso Coral), the watercolored circle, a cute branch cut from the Petal Passion thinlets, some gold metallic thread and the cute parrot.  I attached all of this to the from panel with some tombow glue.  I let it hang over the side for a fun effect.

The inside of the card is just another piece of designer series paper cut to 4" x 2 3/4" adhered to the right side of the large panel of the card and then I cut a piece of whisper white 4" x 2 1/2" for the hidden sentiment and placed that to the left.  The sentiment on the right was just stamped in Bermuda Bay onto a scrap whisper white and placed with dimensionals.....it's actually a pretty easy card!  I hope you give it a try!

More Petal Passion!

This card was actually made with the Petal Passion Memories & More kit. It's not just for scrapbookers...it can also be used to make up quick and easy cards! The kit has beautiful cards in 2" x 3" and 4" x 6" sizes and also includes some embellishments. The cards are mostly black and white and some have a hint of pink. The brushstroke style images can be colored in with the Stampin' Blends and the result is gorgeous! I did add a layer of the vellum card stock to soften the background a bit and tied it off with the new Sale-A-Bration shimmer ribbon....free with a $50 order!

Petal Passion & Stampin' Blends

Today I decided to play a little with the new Stampin' Blends and the Petal Passion designer series paper. WOW! How fun! This black and white floral paper is so easy to color with the blends markers. It doesn't take much to feel like a real artist. I really love how they turned out! I used a sheet of the vellum card stock to soften the background a bit and finished it off with a sweet sentiment from the Petal Palette stamp set. Definitely my favorite of the new occasions catalog! I altered my original a bit to fit the Inspire.Create.Challenge sketch challenge.  First time I've done one of these and I think I'm hooked!  Go check out their wonderful designs...they have a very talented team!
